Aging in Hollywood isn’t easy and for 62-year-old Melanie Griffith, some are worried that her changing face may have cost her acting jobs. A new report by Star Magazine suggests that Melanie may even be addicted to plastic surgery. The Oscar-nominated actress and mother of beauties Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas and son Alexander Bauer has concerned some went public several years ago saying that she had undergone procedures to countereffect the results of some procedures. Now, reports are saying that Melanie is doing more to her face in an effort to restore her youth and land more working jobs.
Star Magazine quoted an insider who claimed to have seen Melanie out and about Los Angeles in December.
“It seems like she’s just had a fresh supply of Botox and fillers injected into her forehead, cheeks, and lips — and as usual, she’s overdone it. She’s sworn to her friends that she’s overcome the urge to fix her face, but she’s still obsessed. At this point, she’s practically ruined herself.”

The article wasted no time in pointing out that acting roles for Melanie have been few and far between. Hollywood is beginning to see some industry changes when it comes to aging and giving women leading roles. Movies like Wonder Woman defied tradition and challenged stereotypes as for decades, no one believed a movie starring a female superhero would be a blockbuster.
Older women are starting to see more roles opening for them, and for many years, the belief was that if you age, you didn’t work. Many actresses and even models turned to plastic surgery to preserve and maintain their youth only to be dissatisfied with the results.
Now it seems the tide has turned and older women with more of a natural appearance, and yes, even wrinkles, continue to find themselves landing roles. Some examples are Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, and Susan Sarandon.
All is not lost for Melanie. Even though she and Antonio Banderas were married for 18 years and are now divorced, he has cast her as the lead in his new movie Akil.
