A new social media page titled ‘KeepFightingMichael’, which has been created by his fan club in Kerpen, near Cologne in Germany, will go live on Sunday – exactly six years to the day of his accident on Deember 29, 2013. The fan club will use the hashtag #KeepFighting to ramp up interest on social media. The Schumacher family’s foundation of the same name is raising money to support victims with injuries similar to those suffered by Michael Schumacher, and will also raise money for research into brain and spinal cord injuries.
Reiner Ferling, chairman of Schumacher’s fan club in his hometown, was quoted by The Independent as saying: “Unfortunately, the time has come again, the sixth anniversary of Michael’s accident is coming around.
“Six years full of hope that Michael will one day go out in public again.
“We know that Michael is in good hands, that he gets love, security and confidence. Michael can count himself lucky to have such a strong family behind him.
“As a fan club, we will provide all kinds of support that we can provide.”
On December 29, 2013, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion fell and hit his head on a rock while skiing with his son Mick in the French Alps.
He suffered a traumatic head injury and was placed in a medically-induced coma for six months after the accident.
He was later transferred for further rehabilitation at the University of Lausanne before being moved to his home in Switzerland.
But since his accident six years ago, he has not been seen in public, with millions of his fans desperate for some news.

A further update on Schumacher’s condition was recently provided by his former boss at Ferrari, Jean Todt.
He told Radio Monte-Carlo he recently watched a motor race with Schumacher at his home in Switzerland.
Mr Todd said Schumacher “does not give up and keeps fighting”.
He told the radio station: “I’m always careful with such statements, but it’s true.”
“I saw the race together with Michael Schumacher at his home in Switzerland.
“Michael is in the best hands and is well looked after in his house.
“He does not give up and keeps fighting.”
