If you need your Amazon delivery to arrive in time for Christmas, you'll need to order NOW

Forgot to buy a gift for a certain family member – or need to quickly add something else beneath the tree? Well, if you’re planning to from warehouse-aficionado Amazon, you haven’t got much time left at all. The retail giant has revealed its last-chance dates for Christmas shopping. And the deadlines start from today.

While some customers will be able to order from Amazon UK on Christmas Eve when coughing-up for same-day delivery, those who pay for an annual Prime membership can order as late as 21:15 via Prime Now to receive deliveries by midnight on Christmas Eve – although it’s worth noting that option isn’t available nationwide, so you’ll want to double-check before you leave a gift to the eleventh hour.

Below you will find those all-important cut-offs for deliveries.

Today, Sunday December 22nd • Final Date To Order With Standard Delivery. If you order before the end of the day, Amazon expects your parcel to arrive by December 24, 2019. Just enough time to wrap and sort the bow.

Monday December 23rd • Final Date To Order With One-Day Delivery. If you’re a Prime subscriber – the annual subscription that Amazon offers to shoppers which includes free unlimited one-day delivery as well as access to its Netflix rival Prime Video, unlimited online photo storage, music streaming and more – Amazon will deliver your parcel by December 24th. If you’re not a Prime member, it’s still possible to get your package through your letterbox for this date, but you’re going to have to pay for the privilege. To be more precise, you’ll need to pay £4.99 per delivery (or £2.99 to get it delivered to an Amazon Locker or Pickup Location) for the privilege.

Tuesday December 24th • Deadline For The Same-Day Delivery. Amazon can deliver eligible products on Tuesday December 24th in Greater London and 80 other cities and towns. The Seattle-based company will charge a fee to anyone who isn’t a Prime member.

Tuesday December 24th • Deadline For Prime Now. This one is exclusive to Prime members – no matter how much you’re willing to pay. Also, Prime Now is only available in select areas of the UK, so it’s well worth checking all the small print before you decide to place an order on Amazon – or else you might find yourself apologising profusely and handing over an empty box.

The ultra-fast delivery service will deliver on Tuesday 24th December in select postcodes in London, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Portsmouth, South Yorkshire and Glasgow. To order on Prime Now, you’ll need to download the designated Prime Now app or visit primenow.amazon.co.uk. With Prime Now, for orders over £40 in selected areas, receive free delivery for orders up to midnight by ordering by 21:15 and order by 19:15 for delivery at 22:00 in Glasgow.

For One Hour delivery at £7.99, members can order as late as 22:59 for delivery by 23:59.

Tuesday December 24th • Deadline For AmazonFresh. If you’re unaware, AmazonFresh is the grocery delivery service currently available in some 302 postcodes in London and the South East. It offers delivery of thousands of grocery items from Morrisons, Booths, Whole Foods Market as well as a number of your other favourite brands in one-hour delivery slots. You need a Prime membership to order your next weekly shop – for same-day delivery, Amazon will let you order a truckload of Christmas snacks and trimmings by 13:00 for delivery as late as 23:00 on Christmas Eve.

Wednesday December 25th • Amazon doesn’t deliver on the day itself, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add a few last-minute gifts under the tree. For example, the US retailer offers gift cards that can be emailed to friends or family, or printed-out at home and tucked into a gift bag or a card for a loved one.
