This Friday, fans of the late Brittany Murphy and media journalists are commemorating the death of the actress who passed away back in 2009. Today was the 10th anniversary of Murphy’s tragic overdose. Brittany is perhaps most known for her appearances in films such as Girl Interrupted, 8 Mile, and Clueless.
She was pronounced dead on the 20th of December, 2009, when she was 32-years-old, and many people have questioned the circumstances of her surprising passing.
Reportedly, coroners listed drug intoxication and pneumonia as the cause of death, however, her half-brother, Tony Bertolotti, claims her husband and screenwriter, Simon Monjack, may have played a role in her death.
According to Tony, Monjack and Murphy’s mother were present in the home when Murphy passed away. Bertolotti said to reporters from The Daily Mail that the incident was suspect because she was a “healthy girl” and she suddenly passed away when her mother and “supposed husband” were both there.
Bertolotti went on to say that only in Hollywood would people not think to take the afflicted person to the hospital, which was just four miles away, he explained. He added, “I think Brittany was taken out,” and then asked who killed her, because she “didn’t die of natural causes.”
According to Tony, who is a former saxophone player and composer, his brother-in-law may have contributed to her death in some way because he owed a lot of money. Tony went on to argue that their deaths sounded business-related.
Furthermore, Bertolotti urged for those who are curious to see where the money is going now, because every time one of her movies is on the air, someone is getting the check. Also, Angelo Bertolotti, Brittany’s father, believed Brittany may have been murdered. He later died in January of this year.

He added that Mr. Bertolotti was searching for clues like a “hound dog,” but then he died. Angelo approached many people who were close to her, and nobody ever told him anything, Murphy’s half-brother remarked.
