Fortnite Winterfest 2019 looks set to launch this week, with rumours saying a start date and time had been pencilled in for today.
Battle Royale fans have been looking forward to Fortnite Winterfest ever since proof of the big Fortnite Christmas event was revealed by dataminers.
Leakers that rummaged through last week’s Fortnite update 11.30 found files relating to Winterfest along with a pencilled in release date on December 17.
It was expected that Fortnite Winterfest would have a start time of around 1pm UK time, judging by past release schedules.
However, ahead of the Fortnite Winterfest 2019 start time leaker @HYPEX has noticed something peculiar.
They found that references in game files to Winterfest kicking off on December 17 have now been removed.
This could be because the event is starting today, or – as speculated – it could be because of a Winterfest 2019 start time and date delay.
Posting about the news HYPEX tweeted: “Looks like epic removed the previous Winterfest announcement description that said: ‘Get ready for seasonal fun, challenges and free presents.
“Starts December 17.’
“Let’s pray for it to not get delayed”.

HYPEX then added: “Let’s give it another hour or 4”.
The Fortnite leaker also revealed that a number of YouTubers have been given an update on the release date of new wintery skins.
On Twitter @HYPEX said: “Some Youtubers from around the world got an email from Epic to receive the Glacial Legends early for a youtube showcase, and they’ve been told that it’s planned to be released on December 23rd.”
The Fortnite Winterfest 2019 event is set to bring with it the latest version of the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges.

• Eliminations with an unvaulted weapon

• Search a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus
• Use presents!
