Back in 1978, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John starred as Danny and Sandy in the iconic movie musical Grease. And now for the first time in 41 years, the pair have dressed up as their characters for a fan event. Travolta wore his black leather jacket, while Newton-John was in that famous skirt and cardigan for the opening night of Meet ’N’ Grease at West Palm Beach, Florida.
Travolta, 65, sported a Danny quiff toupee, while Newton-John, 71, wore Bad Sally’s black leather from Grease’ finale during a Q&A.
Olivia posted on Instagram: “First time in costume since we made the movie ! So excited!!”
Meet ’N’ Grease’s event stated: “‘It’s the Rydell High School reunion event of the year when Grease stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John reunite for a special Meet ‘N’ Grease movie Sing-A-Long event.
“These special Meet ‘N’ Grease evenings will provide a limited number of VIP tickets available for purchase, and include a special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.”

The description added: “In addition, there will be a massive screening of the Grease Sing-A-Long film, followed by a special, intimate Q&A with Travolta and Newton-John.
“All audience members (from General Admission to VIP Package ticket holders) are encouraged to come dressed as your favourite character from Grease.’”
Meanwhile, Travolta shared videos of the event, with one showing him looking at the huge audience.
The amazed 65-year-old said: “Grease is still the word. Man!”
The Reddit user’s other piece of evidence is the all-too-perfect ending in Grease.
The wrote: “Danny and Sandy are back together despite everything.
“Rizzo suddenly isn’t pregnant and Kenickie suddenly decides that he actually loves her [and] the geeky kid gets onto the sports team.
“EVERYTHING is suddenly ok, just the way that sweet, innocent Sandy would have wanted it to be.”
Then there’s the flying car which presumably ascends into heaven?
Some fans weren’t impressed by the theory with one suggesting it was Danny who was dying.
The alternative theory suggests Danny was drowning in an attempt to save Sandy.
As he dies he gives the girl the name Sandy because they’re by the beach and imagines a perfect romance where he builds his dream car and graduates high school. Maybe a little too dark?
