Your Samsung Galaxy S10 could look massively inferior from this date

If you own a Galaxy S10, there might not be too long left before it begins to look more than a little outdated. Samsung is expected to launch its all-new Galaxy S11 within the first few weeks of the new year, and new rumours point to the Galaxy S10 successor coming sooner rather than later.

A recent rumour from tech tipster @UniverseIce suggests this new flagship will be revealed to the world in February and there’s even a date

when things could be officially unveiled. According to the leakster, who has a solid track record when it comes to unannounced Samsung products, the Galaxy S11 will be unveiled on February 18.

That’s around one week before the tech world descends on Barcelona for the annual MWC 2020 tradeshow, formerly known as Mobile World Congress.

In recent years, Samsung has launched its latest phones ahead of MWC so that February date seems perfectly plausible. But what will be the difference between the S10 and S11?

Perhaps the main reason that S10 owners will feel disappointed is the new camera that looks set to grace the rear case of the Galaxy S11.

JUST IN: Galaxy S11 release date revealed?

Samsung has codenamed its next camera “Hubble” after the largest space telescope ever launched and there could be a good reason why it’s getting this comparison. Samsung is rumoured to be looking to incorporate a quadruple snapper with a giant 5x optical zoom to the next entry in its flagship Galaxy S series.

The South Korean company is likely to follow in the footsteps of other Android manufacturers and offer software-enhancements on top of this to add even greater zoom.

And if the zoom capabilities alone aren’t enough to justify the lofty Hubble codename, the fact Samsung is tipped to include a 108-megapixel sensor in the set-up should surely do the trick.

Along with that photographic upgrade, there could also be a boost to the processor with the S11 likely to get improved performance and longer battery life. In fact, a recent post from GalaxyClub has unearthed a photo of a battery it claims is the exact cell that’ll be leveraged by the Galaxy S11+.

It was shown to have a typical capacity of 5,000mAh and a rated capacity of 4,855mAh. In other words, the device could have a humongous battery. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ came packing a 4,100mAh battery – combined with the more efficient processors tipped to ship inside the Galaxy S11 we’d expect to see with a day-and-a-half of battery, matching the likes of the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

One final change could come to the front of the device. Many think that the S11 is anticipated to boast an all-screen design and have a centred hole-punch à la Galaxy Note 10 rather than the current side position on S10.

With only a few months to go we can expect plenty more leaks and rumours to be posted online and, the February 18, 2020 date is correct, we might not have long left until Samsung reveals all.
