The stand-up comedian, Chris Cotton, passed away at the age of 32-years claims a new report from E! Online. Cotton, who was most known for his work on the comedy network, Comedy Central, died earlier this week by unspecified causes, although Radar Online claims it was related to obesity.
Moreover, the outlet pointed out the most tragic aspect of the story: the fact Chris and his wife, Ericalynn Cotton, were expecting a child in February of next year. A statement from the network addressed Cotton’s death by stating he was a “hilarious comedian,” and a “member of the Comedy Central family.”
Cotton worked on the network’s online talk show series, Every D*mn Day. Following his passing, other comedians and stars shouted out to Mr. Cotton, including Hannibal Burress, who took to his Twitter account to commemorate Chris.
Reportedly, Cotton was in New York City last week performing at the Big Apple’s Caroline on Broadway. A GoFundMe page was created in support of Cotton’s pregnant wife.
As it was mentioned above, Radar Online claims Cotton’s death was caused by complications from very severe obesity. An autopsy report revealed there was a blood clot in his lungs that caused his heart to stop. The examiner wrote in the report, “Significant conditions contributing to death is morbid obesity.”

2019 also saw the loss of another comedian, Brody Stevens, who passed away from an apparent suicide at the age of 48. The Blast revealed in February of this year that the performer was found deceased at his home in LA. He died from hanging.
Representatives writing on his behalf referred to Brody as an “inspiring voice” who was beloved by many people in the comedy community. Previously, Brody had been candid and honest regarding his mental health struggles, including anxiety and depression.
