The embattled Chinese company hopes to stick with Google’s Android mobile OS for those devices, a Huawei spokesperson told Reuters.

The company has been forced to consider alternatives to Android as it faces trade restrictions from the US government that could cut off its access to tech from US companies, and unveiled Harmony OS in September It said at the time that the system would come to smart TVs and other “smart screen” devices in 2019.
