Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Kelvin Fletcher's downfall exposed ahead of final?

Kelvin, 35, has been consistent on Strictly Come Dancing this year, emerging as one of the favourites to win since the 17th series of the BBC dance show began back in September. With the final just weeks away, the tables could turn for the soap star as last year’s contender for the crown Charles Venn, 46, has revealed how another celebrity could beat the Emmerdale actor to the top spot in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.

Week-on-week, the Emmerdale heart-throb has performed with professional Oti Mabuse, 29, with the pair gaining high appraisal from the judges.

They, along with several other star of this year’s line-up have demonstrated their flare for dancing.

One person who as been a surprise in the competition has been comedian Chris Ramsey, 33, who has excelled with his energetic routines alongside Karen Hauer, 37.

Having been partnered with Venezuelan professional last year, Charles is backing the pair all the way, but has revealed a way in which Kelvin could lose the Glitterball Trophy.

The Casualty star said of who he thinks should win: “You can look at obvious choices, but I would say personally, Chris Ramsey.

“I feel Chris Ramsey is going to surprise people. I think he already has but I think he’s going to surprise them more.”

However the comedian’s glory could come as a detriment to the favourites such as Kelvin, Charles explained: “It’s the tortoise and hare factor. He’s definitely the tortoise, he’s gathering momentum now.

“This isn’t a sprint; this is a marathon.”

This weekend will see the remaining five contestants battle it out for a place in next week’s semi-final.

However, Chris’ odds from the bookmakers don’t seem too optimistic about reaching the final.

In fact, they have him as the hot favourite to be the next celebrity eliminated following Saffron Barker’s exit last weekend.

Having crashed out with Charles in last year’s quarter-final, could history be about to repeat itself for Karen?

Latest odds from Ladbrokes put Chris’ chances of leaving at 11/10, but he could just make it through if Alex Scott, 35, bows out.

The bookmakers have the former footballer at 9/4 to leave this weekend, so could the comedian become a contender for the final.

Kelvin still leads the way, with his chances of becoming champion 2/5, with Chris the least likely to win at 20/1.

Could he defy the odds and be the surprise champion this year?

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.10pm on BBC One.
