Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal identify Emery replacement, Man Utd readying £55m bid, Chelsea

Arsenal eyeing Emery replacement

Arsenal are sounding out possible replacements for Unai Emery.

The Times say Freddie Ljungberg is a strong candidate to replace the Spaniard on a temporary basis after Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

The Gunners travel to Norwich on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

However, it remains to be seen whether Emery will be in charge at Carrow Road as the pressure mounts on the Arsenal boss.

Man Utd readying Erling Haaland bid

Manchester United are ready to submit an official bid for RB Salzburg star Erling Haaland.

The Red Devils are desperate to bolster their attacking options and the 19-year-old Norwegian international is considered a top priority.

Italian publication Calciomercato claim Ed Woodward and Co. are prepared to offer £55million for the sought-after teenager, who’s scored 26 goals in 18 appearances this season.

The 13-time Premier League champions are eager to secure his signature in January to foil several other interested clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Chelsea talks

Willian is refusing to talk to other clubs about a summer transfer despite contract talks with Chelsea being on hold.

Willian is in the final year of his contract and has made it clear he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, however, the club have yet to offer the winger a new deal.

As it stands the 31-year-old’s future remains uncertain despite manager Frank Lampard wanting to keep the player on.

Willian, who will be able to speak to other teams in January, has revealed he is currently in a stand-off with the club about agreeing a new contract.

“I feel happy here,” said Willian. “I feel happy to play for this club but the situation is not in my hands.

“It’s in their hands. I’m waiting for them. They know what I want, what I want to do, so I wait for them.”
