Gregg Wallace reveals heartbreaking reason why his wife won’t be having any more children

But the painful condition – which affects the lining of the womb – has got worse since baby Sid arrived in May. Doctors have now recommended Anne-Marie has a hysterectomy, where the womb is removed. Gregg, 55, said he and his wife are now coming to terms with the fact they will not be able to have any more children naturally.

Anne-Marie told OK!: “My endometriosis returned severely after I had Sid.

“It’s so bad I also have to have part of my intestine removed, as it has attacked my bowel too.”

The mother of one revealed that after the operation, it will take three months for her body to recover from the procedure.

She will also be on HRT “permanently” in a bid to try and stabilise her hormone levels.

But Anne-Marie told how having “miracle” baby Sid had made the thought of the operation easier to bear, and said: “Having a hysterectomy without having already
had a child, would have been horrendous.”

Wallace added: “I’m not looking forward to Anna having the operation, but I’m looking forward to her being out of pain.”

Doctors previously said that due to the severity of Anne-Marie’s condition, it was surprising that she and Gregg had been able to conceive naturally.

Speaking on Lorraine in June, Wallace said: “We came back from a month in Italy – we came back with a book and a baby boy, and we’d been trying for two years.”

Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries or along the pelvis.

One of the key symptoms of the condition is pelvic pain, although many women also experience severe cramping during their menstrual cycle.

Approximately half of women diagnosed with endometriosis have difficulty getting pregnant.

Sid is the cooking judge’s third child – he has 25-year-old Tom and Libby, 23, by his ex-wife Denise.

The TV star started dating Anne-Marie in 2013 after meeting her via Twitter.

The couple went on to tie the knot three years later.
