He added: “But when you properly choke, like I did, you can’t make a sound because the wind pipe is blocked.
“And I’m not dramatising it, I very nearly died actually, I was unable to breathe for about two minutes,” he added, prompting the panel to gasp in shock.
Continuing to describe the moment, he demonstrated the way his sister Elizabeth performed the Heimlich maneuver on him to help.
“My sister saved my life and came behind me,” he concluded.
