PS Plus December 2019 free PS4 game predictions: Last Guardian and BioShock joining list

PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down the days until Sony reveals the full list of PlayStation Plus free games for December 2019. Unless there’s a last minute State of Play live stream, the free PS4 games will be unveiled on the PlayStation Blog at 4.30pm on November 27. The next batch of free PS4 game releases will be available to download from the PlayStation Store on the morning of December 3.

In the run up to the big PlayStation Plus reveal by Sony, fans have been having fun predicting the PS4 games line-up over on Reddit.

According to the entertaining prediction thread, the smart money is on the BioShock Collection joining the service in December.

Containing all three games in the BioShock series, the collection launched to critical acclaim all the way back in 2016. Perhaps tellingly, the BioShock Collection isn’t currently featured in any sale, so there’s a good chance Sony was saving it for this.

The same is true of Far Cry Primal, which also gets multiple mentions throughout the predictions thread. What’s interesting about this is that Far Cry 5 and New Dawn are both heavily discounted, but not Far Cry 4 or Far Cry Primal. Perhaps one of them will appear on PS Plus.

Needless to say, the PS Plus predictions thread also tips various PS4 exclusives to make the cut in December.

This includes Horizon Zero Dawn, which is tipped to get a sequel on the PlayStation 5. Giving the game away for free would certainly boost its profile ahead of any potential follow-up.

Other exclusives tipped to appear include The Last Guardian, the Shadow of the Colossus remake, Gravity Rush 2 and of course, The Order 1886.

Uncharted 4 and Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection also get a mention, although this might just be wishful thinking.

Sony has given away multiple PS4 exclusives in recent months – including Nioh, The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19 – so there’s a good chance it will do the same for December.

Other games to get multiple mentions include Watch Dogs 2, which would be a fine advertisment for the next game releasing in 2020.

Indie sensations such as Firewatch, Celeste and Dead Cells are listed in the predictions thread, alongside Metro Redux and Prey.

There are also calls for No Man’s Sky and an Assassin’s Creed game, not to mention Tetris Effect and even Shenmue I and II.

One of the funnier predictions is for Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus – “you know just to annoy Stadia early adopters”.

Even if you’re not into online multiplayer games like Modern Warfare and Battlefield 5, PS Plus is worth it for the monthly free games.

Ahead of the December PS Plus reveal on November 27, subscribers can pick up Nioh and horror game Outlast 2.

“You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn,” reads the official Outlast 2 description. “The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch.

“You’re following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe.

“The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.”
