Melania Trump fury: FLOTUS ‘sham’ campaign attacked in social media rage over Trump Tweets

It came as US President Donald Trump attacked former Ukrainian ambassador Marie Yovanovitch on Twitter as she testified in the public hearing. As Ms Yovanovitch testified, Trump bombarded Twitter with criticisms of her. He said: “Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad.

“She started off in Somalia, how did that go?”

Following this, Twitter users began reporting the tweet to the First Lady highlighting her anti-cyberbullying “Be Best” campaign.

One Twitter user replied to Trump’s Twitter rant with: “This tweet brought to you by the BeBest campaign.”

Many of the tweets highlighted the contradiction between Melania’s working on “anti-bullying” and Trump attack on Ms Yovanovitch.

Madelene Ortiz wrote on Twitter: “While Trump intimidates and bullies the witness, Melania Trump ‘works’ on her anti-bullying campaign. BeBest.”

Rob Anderson posted: “I’m guessing Melania’s ‘anti-bullying campaign’ took a public relations hit today with a sitting President live-bullying a US Ambassador during sworn testimony. The opposite of BeBest.”

Kim Hyatt tweeted the First Lady, she said: “Hey FLOTUS how’s that BeBest campaign going? BeBest Bully.”

One Twitter user wrote: “How is your husband’s behaviour congruent with BeBest?”

The impeachment inquiry is over Trump allegedly abusing the power of his office by pressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate a political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Many Twitter users flooded the First Lady with calls her to act on her husbands actions.

Despite the criticism many took the opporunity to praise the First Lady.

One Twitter user wrote on social media: “Thank you Melania for all you are doing for our country.”

Another added: “Thank you for all that you are doing to represent our country with class and honor.”

A social media wrote to the First Lady saying: “You are a beautiful gracious First Lady.”

One fan of the First Lady tweeted: “We love you. Don’t give up. Keep doing what you’re doing.”
