Tess Daly husband: Is Tess Daly still married to Vernon Kay? Ups and downs of relationship

Tess Daly co-presents BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing every Saturday night, and has done for over 15 years. Her marriage to TV presenter Vernon Kay pre-dates her time on Strictly, and the couple have two children together.

Tess and Vernon have been married since 2003, but their relationship hasn’t always been plain-sailing.

In 2010, the couple’s marriage was rocked by allegations Vernon had sent sexual messages to glamour model, Rhian Sugden.

A spokesperson for Vernon Kay said at the time: “They never at any point had a physical sexual relationship.”

The former Family Fortunes host also acknowledged the allegations.

He said at the start of his Radio 1 show: “Now this week you may or may not be aware that because of some foolish and stupid decisions I have made, I have disappointed and I have let down a lot of people.

“To my family and everybody, I am very sorry.”

Tess has not spoken publicly about the incident.

But in 2016, The Sun reported Vernon had sent hundreds of flirty text messages to Rhian six years after the initial 2010 incident.

“Within seconds he ‘unliked’ it. His followers could easily have seen that.”

Although Tess did not directly discuss the ‘sexting’ claims against her husband, she spoke to The Times about her marriage in 2017.

She said: “All marriages have their moments.

“It would be unrealistic to say they don’t.

“Marriage is always a work in progress.

“Vernon and I are just people at the end of the day.”

The couple’s relationship appears to be back on track now, with Tess sharing adorable pictures of the family on holiday in the Maldives in August.

She captioned the family snaps: “Perfect Paradise. For #tbt I’m throwing it back to the best birthday I ever had – on the holiday of a lifetime, in the beautiful Maldives back in April with the family.

“Soaked up every super-special moment and even had a go at paddle boarding – while the baby sharks were swimming all around us – you can just make them out in the photo!

“Special memories and truly a little piece of heaven on Earth #maldives #kanahura #wishiwasthere”.
