The Crown season 3 uncovers Prince Charles complex relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles

The Crown viewers are excited to dive into the third season of the show which arrives on Netflix this weekend. While much of the show’s promotion has been surrounding the arrival of the new Queen Elizabeth (played by Olivia Colman) and Prince Philip (Tobias Menzies), fans of the show are going to see a lot of drama kicking off between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Camilla Parker Bowles (Emerald Fennell).

According to The Sun, the show will venture into the relationship Princess Anne (Erin Doherty) had with Andrew Parker Bowles (Andrew Buchan).

The publication tells of a scene which sees the Princess and Andrew speaking just after sleeping together.

Princess Anne goes on to warn Andrew that he may become embroiled in a love triangle alongside Prince Charles and his former wife, Camilla.

She said: “This conversation is going round and round in circles — and I preferred it when we were going round and round in circles.

“I can see perfectly clearly who you are and what this is — and I can assure you I’m not going to get hurt. Now what’s it going to be, a resumption or a cessation?”

The Sun’s report goes on to point out Princess Anne did have a “fling” with Andrew back in 1970 – after dating Camilla for five years.

It also reports of the first meeting of Prince Charles and Camilla at Windsor Great Park in 1970.

She tells the Prince: “My great-grandmother was the mistress of your great-great-grandfather. I feel we have something in common.”

Later, viewers will see Camilla and Andrew suffer a huge argument, which sees the latter announcing: “This escalation of hostilities is neither necessary or justifiable.”

Camilla chimed back in with a spiteful: “You had your chance for a ceasefire and you broke it.

“So before we even discuss the terms of a truce, you just have to know how it feels.”

The drama continues as Camilla dumps Andrew, leaving him to bump into Princess Anne in a subsequent scene.

Andrew stumbles: “I’m staring at you and how much you’ve flowered. I mean, developed. Grown up.”

Anne coyly replies: “Somehow you’ve never seen me. Now you’re making up for it by gawping. Don’t apologise. I don’t mind admitting I’ve done my fair share of gawping at you over the years.”

Recently Queen Elizabeth actor Olivia Colman told OK! Magazine about her transformation for the role.

She explained: “I had to put on a lot of weight for Queen Anne in The Favourite, but I had to lose a lot of weight for this.

“Well, I didn’t have to because everyone was very polite and nice, but I said: ‘I need to lose weight’.”

The Crown season 3 will be released on Netflix on November 17.
