Tony Parker jersey retirement: What time will Spurs hold ceremony? Who will be there?

Tony Parker will join an exclusive club when he gets his No 9 jersey with the San Antonio Spurs retired in a special ceremony tonight.

Parker announced this summer that he would be bringing an end to his 18-year NBA career.

The Spurs have proven throughout the years to draft well with Manu Ginobili being one of the best second-round acquisitions in NBA history.

But Parker in his own right has also proved several teams wrong after being selected 28th overall in the 2001 draft.

He would go on to form part of the ‘Big Three’ alongside Tim Duncan and Ginobili to help the Spurs claim four NBA titles.

And the 37-year-old will be immortalised after the game against the Memphis Grizzlies by becoming only the 10th player in Spurs history to have his jersey retired.

It’s not yet been confirmed who will be speaking at Parker’s ceremony, but Gregg Popovich will almost certainly be saying a few words.

Both Parker and Duncan were at Ginobili’s jersey retirement so it’s also safe to assume the famous trio would stick together for the final one.

He will also likely be joined by his wife, Axelle Francine, and two sons, Josh and Liam Parker.

The game between the Grizzlies and the Spurs should finish just before 3am (GMT), unless it reaches overtime.
