The Popeye’s chicken sandwich is back and absolute mayhem has ensued since the announcement was made. Ja Rule’s announcement that he is boycotting the sandwich ended up majorly backfiring.
Over the summer, Popeye’s and Chic-Fil-A had a war over who offers the best chicken sandwich. The sandwich that premiered at Popeye’s months before the craze went viral was temporarily discontinued because the company ran out of the special buns that make the sandwich!

The fast-food restaurant started selling its go-to item once more last Sunday (ironically, the one day that Chic-Fil-A is closed) and mass hysteria has begun. There was an incident in which a man was stabbed and killed while waiting in line at Popeye’s and Ja Rule took his thoughts to Twitter.
The rapper tweeted: ‘Y’all really out here acting like n*****s over a f****** chicken sandwich? Smh… now I’m never gonna eat one on principles alone! F****** idiots. Y’all are what’s wrong with our people… I’m so disappointed in my people. We better than this.’
The ignorant comment got the Murda Inc artist slammed to bits because the sandwich isn’t just being consumed by black people. What overshadowed his argument, even more, was his failed FYRE festival venture that social media users had no problem reminding him about.
One person referenced the viral photo of cheese, wilted lettuce, and bread served at the Coachella-gone-wrong: ‘Jah you had people almost killing people over them cheese sandwiches bro!’
Another hilariously added: ‘My dude. I mean. They’re not always there when you call. But they’re always on time…to remind you of a certain festival. They gave you all their money. And you gave them…a sandwich, was it? C’mon man. What principles? And of whomst are you disappointed?’
A follower put him in his place when she tweeted back with: ‘And at least they are fighting over a WHOLE filling chicken meal, and not a Kraft slice on white bread and a scoop of bag salad in FEMA tents…’
