Buyers snap up Nansledan property built by Prince Charles – starting at £235k for two beds

Prince Charles threw his weight behind the Nansledan property development back in 2000, after a similar project Poundbury. Now Britons are snapping up the properties with the town trending on Google due to demand.

Poundbury was built by the Duchy of Cornwall, a huge and highly profitable expanse of land inherited by Prince Charles. The Duchy pays no corporation tax despite turning over tens of millions per year.

From 2017 to 2018 it made £21.7m, money paid into the pocket of Prince Charles. The Poundbury project was both praised and criticised. It was described as “fake, heartless, authoritarian and grimly cute” and “a feudal Disneyland”.

However, it had positive feedback for its environmental outlook and one critic in the Guardian wrote: “A growing and diverse community suggests it’s getting a lot of things right.”

Now it seems Prince Charles’ follow up project is proving popular, with all 300 homes built sold so far, according to Cornwall Live.
