Melissa Gorga is sharing her thoughts on the status of Teresa and Joe Giudice’s relationship. The couple had a rather awkward interview with Andy Cohen that has left fans believing the Giudice marriage is over.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is sympathetic to her costars and family members. Melissa is married to Teresa’s brother, so the Giudice’s are her family, not just castmates. A lot unfolded during Teresa and Joe’s tell-all with Cohen and Melissa sharing her two cents on the interview.
“I thought it must be so difficult to see your husband for the first time through a TV screen, I really did. My heart breaks for them. You can feel that it was a little uncomfortable and I’m hoping the best for them, I really am. It’s sad. They’re going to see each other soon, so they’ll figure it out,” she told Us Weekly exclusively at the Last Christmas premiere in New York City.

Melissa acknowledges Teresa and Joe have spent years apart because of their prison sentences, and his ICE detainment. Now Joe is living in Italy, further complicating the two being able to get to know each other again.
People change over time and spending years away from a spouse can no doubt have an impact. The Love Italian Style author thinks Teresa and Joe need to decide if they even want to get to know each other or rekindle a romantic relationship.
When it comes to Joe and Teresa finding their way back to each other, Melissa hopes they can figure it out. She feels it will do wonders for the couple’s four daughters Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana.
“I hope they do, but I understand if they don’t because it’s a very far distance. So, if they don’t, I completely understand that and I respect the family’s decision,” Melissa expressed.
The future of Joe and Teresa Giudice as a couple depends on what happens with his deportation ruling in November. If Joe’s appeal is denied and is forced to stay in Italy, the marriage will be over. Should he manage to be allowed to return to the United States, the couple might have a shot at saving their marriage.
