This Is How Much Jax Taylor Made Season One Of Vanderpump Rules — He Also Addresses Feud With Billie Lee By Saying ‘She Went Off The Deep End’

The stars of Vanderpump Rules went from simple SURvers to reality royalty seemingly overnight. In a new podcast appearance, Jax Taylor reveals exactly how much he got paid to film the show and more.

Even though they were working in one of the hottest spots in WEHO, the bartenders at SUR could barely pay their expensive California rent. That all changed once the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump brought the idea for a spin-off to Stassi Schroeder who was dating the resident playboy at the time.

Jax explained on Heather McDonald’s podcast: ‘I was working at SUR for about a month and a half before I even knew about this show. Lisa came up to Stassi and said, ‘Listen, I have this idea for a show. What do you think?’

He went on to say how he basically hit the jackpot because he was $30,000 in debt and was given a $15,000 paycheck to film season one. It may not sound like a lot but between the show money, his regular paycheck from slingin’ drinks (not to mention modeling), and the different endorsement opportunities that came along with the exposure — Taylor was going from rags to riches in no time.

It’s reported that he makes upwards of $25,000 per episode for the newer seasons.

He also discussed his feud with Billie Lee. The transgender activist quit the show after being bullied.

She went on later to call out the 40-year-old for being verbally abusive and making alarming comments off-camera.

Taylor said: ‘I don’t even talk to [Billie]. She went off the deep end.’

He also addressed the accusations of transphobia that Lee aimed at the cast for leaving her out of girls’ night.

‘I think she really didn’t know how to handle the show very well and I think the things she was saying about the cast was completely untrue. Things like that are extremely sensitive, especially in the time we are in right now. So, accusing people of saying things like that, especially saying things about us that were so untrue, like we were against the LGBTQ community, is not okay. And we didn’t want to have something like that around.’

Jax said that he felt some of the comments Billie made were ‘below the belt.’
