Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl issue urgent food recall – full list here

Supermarkets will issue recall warnings when a product is thought to pose a risk to consumers. The supermarket chains Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl have issued a food warning as some items could risk the safety of customers. Shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards for the food products and return them to stores for a refund. This is the full list of affected items.

Birds Eye 50 Chicken Nuggets with Golden Wholegrain

This product is available to buy in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose.

The supermarket chains have issued an urgent warning as the product could contain plastic which would make it unsafe to eat.

The Food Standards Agency posted: “Birds Eye is recalling Birds Eye 50 Chicken Nuggets with Golden Wholegrain because they may contain small pieces of plastic.

“The presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.”

The affected batches are those with the pack size of 790 grams and best before date of 16 October 2020.

The unsafe packs also have the batch codes L9208 W V124, L9208 X V124, L9208 Y V124, L9208 Z V124.

Customers who may have bought the product are being urged not to eat it.

Instead, they can return the item to the store where it was bought for a full refund or contact Birds Eye customer services.

J.D. Gross Mini Chocolate Bites

Lidl Northern Ireland is recalling three products as they contain allergens not labelled in English.

These products may contain barley, cereals containing gluten, egg, milk, nuts, peanuts, sesame and soya which could cause a serious risk to those with allergies.

J.D. Gross Mini Chocolate Bites in the flavours Raspberry and Coconut and Toffee are affected.

They have the pack sizes of 70 grams and the best before dates of 28 March 2020.

Also affected are 70 gram packs in the flavour Hazelnut and Poppy Seeds which have the best before date of 28 March 2020 and batch code 191259G1, 191259F1, 191259E1, 191259D1.

Customers can return their products to store where they will be given a full refund.

Recently, the supermarkets Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose all issued recalls on some products.
