Sebastian Vettel disagreed with his team-mate Charles Leclerc over his claim that the Ferrari hasn’t been quick enough at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Ferrari duo Leclerc and Vettel are hoping to catch up with Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas at Suzuka this weekend.
But so far this week, the two Scuderia have been disappointing, and have been some way off the pace in practice.
Vettel has endured a torrid season so far, winning just once and finishing on the podium eight times.
Leclerc, on the other hand, has won twice and finished on the podium nine times, as he helped Ferrari to three race wins on the bounce.

Speaking at Suzuka, however, he admitted that the car hasn’t been quick enough, saying: “It seems we are lacking pace this weekend,” before admitting: “I expect it to be hard to catch Mercedes in front.”
Vettel disagreed, and insisted the car isn’t as bad as Leclerc is making out.
The four-time world champion remained realistic but confident about Sunday’s race when speaking with reporters.
“It’s not as bad as maybe you think,” Vettel said.
“I think we were quite OK, but just lacking overall pace.
“I think Mercedes is very comfortable straight from the morning, so not a surprise they were able to show that again in FP2.
“For us, I think we have a bit of room to improve.
“It wasn’t an ideal session, maybe using our tyres not the way we could have.
“But overall, I think we’ll see what we find.
“We’ll stay indoors and see what happens on Sunday.”
