Man Utd chief Ed Woodward branded ‘arrogant’ and apparently says ‘do you know who I am?’

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has been branded ‘arrogant’ by a club intermediary.

The Red Devils supremo is currently in the spotlight amid the team’s failure to flourish under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, with the club currently sitting just two points above the Premier League relegation zone.

Some Manchester United fans feel as if Woodward has let Solskjaer down by failing to splash the cash this summer.

Others, though, are more understanding of the difficulties such a job can entail.

Woodward is something of an unknown. He doesn’t speak that much, only when called to do so by club investors.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

And one intermediary, speaking to The Athletic, has labelled the United executive vice-chairman as ‘arrogant’.

“Woodward can be arrogant,” he reportedly said.

“If you ever say something that pushes his buttons he will be like, ‘Do you know who I am?’ His job is impossible really isn’t it, but I don’t think he covers himself in glory.”

Another person at United, however, has spoken glowingly of Woodward.

They say he is ‘charming and affable’ behind the scenes at Old Trafford, while also said to be a good conversationalist.

Woodward is said to show genuine interest in those in his company.

And he dresses casually, presumably to paint an image of him being an approachable and laid-back individual.

Despite that, however, former United defender Gary Neville recently urged the club to get rid of Woodward.

And that’s because he feels the club have ‘gone backwards’ under the 47-year-old.

“They had [Marouane] Fellaini, [Ander] Herrera, [Chris] Smalling, [Alexis] Sanchez, [Romelu] Lukaku and probably four or five others who either had their chance at the club, didn’t suit the style or didn’t want to be at the club,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“He has got half of them out, there is no doubt Man United would be a better team today with those five players in the squad. Solskjaer probably knew that and so did the club.

“They were never going to get back to winning leagues and European cups with those players who have left. I disliked watching that group of players for two or three years. There was a lot not to like.

“I don’t believe the guy at the top should be there doing it anymore, I think he has had his chance but that is another story.

“The club has gone backwards in some senses in the short-term for what would be I think a better position in the longer term.”

While Woodward has divided opinion, he has overseen success at United.

The club have won three trophies during his time in charge – more than Liverpool, who they face on October 20.
