Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador split from her ex-husband David Beador two years ago, and the former couple finalized their divorce earlier this year. Both have since moved on to new relationships, but David has no interest in knowing Shannon’s new boyfriend.
David started dating Lesley Cook just weeks after calling it quits with Shannon, and this summer she revealed she was dating John Janssen. However, when Shannon and her new man ran into David, it didn’t go well.
“They’ve seen each other, but David isn’t interested. I tried to introduce them, but he walked away. David walked away. I should have expected it,” Shannon told Us Weekly.
The 55-year-old says she’s “never been happier” now that her 17-year marriage is officially over and she has Janssen in her life. Shannon met Janssen through friends who have known him for 30 years, so she knew he was there “for the right reasons.” Shannon says Janssen is a great person and they have a great connection, adding that she is “very much in love.”
However, the RHOC star is in no hurry to walk down the aisle again. She explained that she has “one shot left,” so she wants to be realistic. Shannon wants to be certain that this time around, everything will be good, but she admits that she “definitely wants to be married again.” Shannon says she is looking forward to sharing her life with someone and having a partner to grow old with.
This relationship is already better than her marriage, as Shannon revealed that being with Janssen is a “partnership,” and that’s something she never had with David. Shannon added that she and Janssen are making plans far into the future and they spend a lot of time together, but things are still very new and they have no plans to move in together anytime soon.
The mom-of-three says that the new relationship does feel weird because even though she met Janssen just a few months ago, they are already so comfortable together that she feels like she has known him for years.
