Samuel L. Jackson is the latest to respond to Martin Scorsese’s comments about how Marvel movies are “not cinema.”Speaking to Variety, Jackson defended Marvel films against the director’s criticisms.

“I mean that’s like saying Bugs Bunny ain’t funny,” Jackson told Variety. “Films are films. Everybody doesn’t like his stuff either.”

“Everybody’s got an opinion, so I mean it’s okay,” Jackson continued. “Ain’t going to stop nobody from making movies.”

Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the MCU, is the latest to respond to Scorsese’s comments. Check out the video below for Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn’s response to Scorsese’s criticism:The controversy started when Scorsese, the legendary director behind Raging Bull and the upcoming The Irishman, reportedly told Empire Magazine that the MCU movies are more akin to theme parks.

“It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being,” the director added.
