Marvel: Spider-Man’s next plot revealed in enormous MCU twist? It’s NOT what you thought

Fans were excited when they heard executive producer and Marvel President Kevin Feige is determined to bring the Fantastic Four back into the Marvel universe.

While already an unexpected move after the failed attempts at the films before, now it seems Marvel Studios is going to make Peter Parker (Tom Holland) Reed Richards’ mentee in an upcoming Fantastic Four film, according to reports.

Source Mikey Sutton claimed the news in his Geekosity Facebook group, according to Boundingtocomics.net.

But Sutton claimed Spider-Man would only have a supporting role.

“Marvel Studios is planning on having Spider-Man in a supporting role for The Fantastic Four,” he posted. “As Reed Richards can be Peter Parker’s new mentor.”

Marvel Studios acquired the Fantastic Four after their deal with Fox and there has been plenty of speculation over exactly how the characters will be introduced into the MCU.

And back in July, fans began guessing after Cosmic Book News claimed the Fantastic Four already exist within the MCU.

The reports suggested the superheroes worked alongside Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Wasp (Michelle Pfeiffer).

Apparently, the Fantastic Four are somehow trapped inside the Negative Zone, where both Hank and Wasp have spent time.

They end up finding a way to escape and arrive in the current timeline of Marvel without having aged a day.

This wouldn’t be too different to what happened to Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) after he was also trapped in the Quantum Realm.

Feige told US publication Variety the production was still a long way off, and the film’s storyline and cast details were still in the pipeline.

While the producer said “no” when asked if he knows anything yet, he managed to tease a little bit more when it comes to exactly how much he has planned.

“All of that is spoilers,” he added.

There has been speculation over who could play Reed and Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four movie however.

Married couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt currently top the list of actors to play the characters.

Thomas Polito claimed on his Twitter page: “John Krasinski and Emily Blunt were both approached for multiple Marvel roles as well.

“They’re def gonna end up with something soon and I think there’s a very good chance it’s Reed and Sue.”

Who else could play the iconic characters?

Marvel’s The Fantastic Four currently doesn’t have a release date.
