Man Utd boss Solskjaer gives Anthony Martial injury update ahead of Arsenal showdown

Anthony Martial will not be ready to take part for Manchester United against Arsenal tonight.

That’s according to Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has provided an update on the Frenchman.

Manchester United are short of options in attack with Marcus Rashford also out injured.

But Solskjaer does not think Martial will be back until after the international break in a blow to the club.

“I don’t think we’ll see Anthony before the international break,” Solskjaer told the United app.

“Luke Shaw is improving so hopefully we’ll see him.

“There might be one or two [back against Arsenal]. Paul [Pogba] was really struggling with his ankle as it was really swollen, so let’s see how that repairs.

“He got 90 minutes [against Rochdale] but towards the end [of the game] it was sore again.

“Phil [Jones] will be out until after the international break and you have to count these after every game but I think that’s it.”

United take on Arsenal tonight at Old Trafford from 8pm.

Solskjaer’s side are currently 11th but if they were to get all three points against the Gunners they would move up to sixth.

The Norwegian has admitted United need to better in attack as they netted just eight times in their six Premier League games.

“We need to score more, definitely,” admitted Solskjaer.

“We’re working on improving the relationships, the patterns, the understanding [between players].

”I think that we’ve done great defensively, but of course we’re not happy with the return going forward.”
