Piers Morgan: 'Tearing our family apart' GMB host's wife addresses Susanna Reid reports

Celia Walden, 43, took to Instagram to share her views on reports about her marriage to Piers Morgan, 54. The journalist shared a snap of a Bella magazine headline with her 11,000 followers, which claimed the Good Morning Britain presenter was “risking” their union for his co-host Susanna Reid, 48. It read: “Piers risking his marriage for Susanna? Wife’s fury over flirting.” Fortunately, Celia was quick to make light of the suggestion, as she issued a seemingly sarcastic retort in the caption.

She wrote: “I’ve tried to tell him that it’s destroying my self-esteem, but it’s a compulsion – an addiction. And it’s tearing our family apart #nofurylikeawomanscorned.”

Fans took to the comments section of Celia’s post to share their thoughts in response.

One person wrote: “Love your sense of humour.”

“Love the crazy headlines just to read your responses,” a second Instagram user added.

Piers also responded to the magazine headline in view of his 735,000 Instagram followers and captioned the shot with several laughing emojis.

Celia’s comments come after she admitted she was unimpressed when her husband made a cheeky joke about Susanna.

The outspoken TV personality addressed what would happen if both he and Susanna were single.

Piers made a mischievous remark in an interview with Daily Mail’s Event Magazine, saying: “Well if we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

Celia posted a picture of the magazine on Instagram, sat alongside a cup of coffee on a table.

Piers’ spouse of nine years wrote: “The headline every wife wants to read on a Sunday morning #mythoughtsarewithsusanna.”

In the interview, he joked about his “sexual tension” with Susanna and said: “What it is, is a forcibly arranged marriage.

“You spend hours together every day, you have to put up with each other, agree, disagree and bicker but you have none of the benefits of a marriage and none of the marital ways of relieving the tension.”

Susanna groaned in response: “Oh please, not the sexual tension AGAIN.”

Piers added: “Well if we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

Susanna promptly shut him down and replied: “With other people, of course.”

Piers and Celia tied the knot in 2010 and the couple have one daughter together, Elise, seven.

The star also has three sons Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Bertie, 18, who he shares with his ex-wife Marion Shalloe.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
