Rachel Riley: Pregnant Countdown star talks 'total filth' on Channel 4 show

Rachel Riley’s attention was caught by a Countdown viewer’s revealing montage yesterday. The Twitter user shared a medley of clips from the Channel 4 gameshow, saying: “All of these rude words have appeared on Countdown in the last year. What on earth is going on over there?” The video featured many, many racy moments, including words like “perverts”, “horniest” and “orgasmic” cropping up on the programme. One instance saw Countdown host Nick Hewer, 75, highlighting two rude terms played one after the other by contestants, saying: “‘Peeing’ one minute, ‘vomits’ the next…”

It wasn’t long before Rachel, 33, spotted the tweet, sharing it with her 651,000 followers.

“Shhhh! I know we’re total filth but we’ve been getting away with it this whole time!” she joked.

The video also featured several of Rachel’s reactions as she attempted to stifle laughter when spelling out rude words on the Countdown letters board.

At one point, she could be seen smiling slyly down the lens as she posed demurely next to the word “erection”.

More titter-inducing terms which appeared on Countdown were “urinates” and “fannies”.

Elsewhere, Rachel is expecting her first baby with Pasha Kovalev, 39.

The Countdown favourite confirmed her pregnancy back in May, just weeks before jetting off to Las Vegas and tying the knot with her ex-Strictly Come Dancing pro beau.

The couple are due to become parents in December.

Rachel and Pasha first met when they were partnered up on Strictly back in 2013.

The presenter subsequently split from her ex-husband before later striking up a romance with Russian-born dancer Pasha.

Last week, Rachel Riley gave a pregnancy update as she spoke out about being trolled online.

“I was very stressed and upset for a couple of days and my baby stopped wriggling for a couple of days,” she said on the Trolled Podcast.

“So, at that point it’s like, ‘You know what, nah. It’s not worth the hormones.’”

Rachel said she had since changed her Twitter settings to prevent her from having to see negative comments.

“They’re not after proper debate,” she said of trolls. “They’re not after their minds changing.

“They’re not doing it for virtuous reasons, so I block them.”
