Shocking pictures showed protesters tear huge concrete bricks from walls and throw them as well as stones at police. Officers deployed tear gas to quell the horrific scenes. The beautiful city was trashed in other pictures, with fires started after objects like tables, chairs and even motorcycles were piled high and set alight.
One terrifying picture shows a man attempting to out out a fire on a heap of wheelie bins, with some melted into a green pulp.
Other pictures show buildings defaced and coffee shops and restaurants with their windows smashed and spray painted on.
It remains unknown just how many activists protested yesterday but another photo shows tens of thousands of them in the streets waving placards and banners.
The protests are another day in the life for those living in Paris.
