Ad Astra is Brad Pitt’s latest movie and is getting a lot of attention from critics and fans alike. After its premiere at Venice Film Festival, some critics are tipping it for awards success, which would make it Brad Pitt’s first acting Oscar win if he does make it. The story follows Brad Pitt as astronaut Roy McBride, who is tasked with a mission to save the planet – and hopefully his father as well.
When is Ad Astra out in cinemas?
The film premiered at Venice Film Festival on August 29.
It has now been released in cinemas in the UK, and will follow in the USA on September 20.
Most other countries will be able to see the film in late September, with release dates spread over a couple of weeks.

What is Ad Astra about?
In Ad Astra, astronaut Roy McBride undertakes mission to travel to the outer edges of the unforgiving solar system, to uncover the truth about his missing father and unravel a mystery which threatens the planet.
His father, played by Tommy Lee Jones, was part of a doomed expedition which, 30 years later, threatens the human race, and Roy is the only man to stop it.
With a space-based synopsis it’s expected the film will have some stunning visual and special effects.
