Zooey Deschanel is dating Property Brother star, Jonathan Scott. The news comes one week after the actress revealed she is divorcing her husband of four years, Jacob Pechenik.
The New Girl alum was spotted holding hands with the HGTV star last week. E! News has a source that confirmed Deschanel and Scott are a happy couple. They met while filming a segment for James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke with their siblings, Drew Scott, and Emily Deschanel.
“They both seem pretty happy and into it so far… It’s still very new, and she wasn’t really looking to date, but she and Jonathan hit it off unexpectedly,” shared the unnamed source.
Scott did admit on Friday that he is currently involved with someone but did not identify the new woman in his life.
‘I am seeing someone, I’m a very private person, so I don’t typically talk about that. It’s definitely special for me because I am the guy who raises the bar in what I’m looking for in a partner. I was caught a little off guard. It was definitely a pleasant surprise,” he shared with Us Weekly
While the actress and her reality TV star beau are staying silent, her soon to be ex-husband, Pechenik is speaking out. On Saturday, he also spoke with Us Weekly at an event for Alex’s Lemonade Stand in Los Angeles.
“Everything is amicable, and we have beautiful children together that are that way because we were the parents. We’ve been raising them, and we’re going to continue to raise them and take great care of them. I’m happy!” he shared with the weekly magazine.
Deschanel and Pechenik have two children together. They will continue to co-parent daughter, Elsie age 4, and son Charlie age 2, long after their divorce is final.
Their children are not the only thing connecting the soon to be ex-spouses. Pechenik and Deschanel are also co-founders of the company Lettuce Grow, which is a subscription service for growing vegetables. He also insists the two are continuing to work together to build the company and thus far have had no disagreements.

Photos of the new lovebirds getting cozy have gone viral but the only one talking about the romance is her estranged hubby, Jacob Pechenik. He is not dishing on the relationship, though. Pechenik is merely letting the world know things are amicable between him and the actress.
