Michael Phelps and his wife Nicole Johnson have welcomed their third child. They are the proud parents of another healthy baby boy.
The Olympian shared the happy news on Instagram, letting his followers know his family had a new member.
“Family of 5! Welcome @mavericknphelps to the world! Born 9-9-19. Mama and baby are healthy, and the boys are pumped to be big bros! #housefullofboys,” the gold medalist wrote alongside a picture of the entire Phelps clan.
Nicole wasted no time letting her followers know she is now a mama to three boys. She shared some more details about baby Maverick.
“We welcomed Maverick Nicolas Phelps into the world on 9/9/19 at 36 weeks and 2 days. Our lil big man was 6lb 5o and 20″. He instantly has stolen all of our hearts and keeps me an ecstatic mommy of boys. I can’t wait to walk this journey surrounded by my men. #familyof5,” Nicole wrote on Instagram using the same family photo as her famous husband.

Maverick’s birth comes a couple of weeks after the family was treated to a “sprinkle” party to celebrate the baby’s impending arrival.
Unlike other couples that are all about having lavish gender reveals they can share on social media, the Phelps family decided to be surprised. They did not know their child was a boy until the day Maverick was born.
Michael may have retired from the pool and competitive swimming, but his life is definitely not any calmer. The chaos is different than the days he was training for the Olympics, but Michael loves being a father.
It is the thing he is most proud of in life. Yes, even more than all of his Olympic medals. He is also madly in love with his wife, whom he has often referrs to as his best friend.
