Next year Marvel Phase 4 kicks off with a string of MCU movies and Disney Plus shows. And come 2021, animated show What If…? will launch, featuring the voices of many Marvel actors reprising their roles. In the style of the comics run, What If…? considers different possibilities that could have happened in the MCU, like Peggy Carter becoming Captain Britain. And now what appears to be an image leak of the show has found its way on to Twitter.
The leaked images depict a gorgeous comic book-style CGI animation.
Characters who feature in the pictures include a pre-super soldier serum Steve Rogers, Peggy Carter as Captain Britain and Bucky.
However, the most intriguing are stills of zombie Captain America and Black Panther as Star-Lord.
The latter presumably is a universe where T’Challa was abducted as a child instead of Peter Quill, going on to become Star-Lord instead.
While zombie Cap references the Marvel Zombies comic run set on alternate Earth-2149, where superheroes are infected and become the undead.
Written by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, Marvel Zombies spanned a series of related stories.

While some Marvel stars who have left the franchise are providing their voices for What If…?, an alleged leak claims Robert Downey Jr will return to the MCU.
According to We Got This Covered, a Disney Plus series focused on Ironheart is in the works.
Marvel comics fans will know this superhero as Riri Williams, a teenage girl who takes on Iron Man’s mantle after he retires.
The source, who correctly revealed that Ewan McGregor would return as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Robert Pattinson would play Batman, claims Downey Jr will feature in Ironheart.
Allegedly, Downey Jr’s Tony Stark will be the voice of the A.I. in Ironheart’s suit.
Downey Jr has even backed Ironheart replacing his Iron Man in the MCU going forward.
The actor made the announcement at the Renaissance Gala at the Gene Siskel Film Centre in June.
A witness tweeted: “The real story here is that @RobertDowneyJr said publicly in a room full of people that #Ironheart should be in the MCU.”
They added: “I went straight back to the press area afterward and was like YOU ALL HEARD IT, WRITE THAT DOWN.”
What If…? arrives on Disney Plus in summer 2021.
