Emmerdale actor Asan N’jie breaks silence after he's SACKED from soap following brawl

Last night, a video of Emmerdale actor Asan N’jie emerged showing the actor shouting at Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, 44, while he was held back by friends.

Within the clip, he could be heard shouting: “Do you think you are a f****** big man? I’m going to f****** kill you. I’m going to f****** knife you.”

Onlookers also said they saw him throwing punches at Jamie as well as shouting abusive threats.

He was said to have been removed from the Hilton Park Lane hotel in Mayfair by security.

Today, it was revealed he has been sacked from the soap as a result of his actions.

The actor has also spoken out about his behaviour, admitting it was “completely unacceptable”.

He said in a statement: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.

“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.”

Asan added he is “devastated” and accepts “full responsibility for my actions”, adding: “I am determined to learn from this.”

A statement from ITV also read: “Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.

“ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”

Following the incident, Asan has since pleaded with bosses to give him a second chance, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: “Asan is beside himself with worry. To quote him he’s in ‘absolute bits’. He knows his career in Emmerdale could be over.

“He’s someone at the centre of a knife crime storyline who has threatened to stab a fellow actor. It doesn’t get more serious than that.”

They added Asan is keen to “do anything to avoid the sack”.

“He will get down on his hands and knees and plead for another chance,” the source added.

Jamie is yet to speak out about the incident publicly and his representatives also declined to comment to Express.co.uk.

Elsewhere at the TV Choice Awards, Asan missed out on the award for Best Newcomer.

The actor faced competition from his co-star Olivia Bromley, Coronation Street’s Maureen Lipman, 73, and EastEnders actress Kara-Leah Fernandes, who won the award.

Emmerdale scooped the gong for Best Soap, beating the likes of EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
