The House From The Romantic-Drama Classic The Notebook Survived Hurricane Dorian

Reported first by TMZ.com, the iconic house from the cult classic romantic-drama, The Notebook, was fortunately unaffected by Hurricane Dorian.

Reportedly, the Antebellum house where The Notebook was filmed was not destroyed or even severely damaged by Hurricane Dorian which was supposed to pass through the area. The southern plantation is one of few still standing today.

The outlet claims that the historic Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina, in Charleston, wasn’t hit by the hurricane. The property served as the filming ground for The Notebook, created by Nick Cassavetes in 2004 which went on to become a massive hit.

Interestingly, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds actually had their wedding reception near the legendary house when they quietly got married back in 2012, seven years ago. As it was previously reported, Hurricane Dorian proved to be especially damaging to the Bahamas, which devastated the island.

Fans of the movie know that upon its release, The Notebook received a mixed reaction from its critics, taking in a 53% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, over the years, the movie accrued a massive following and became what’s known as a “sleeper hit.”

For instance, by February 2010, the movie has sold over 11 million copies on DVD alone. Furthermore, fans of the movie have a particular attachment to the way the movie ended, which Netflix came to realize when they released the movie on their platform with an alternate ending.

According to the film’s Wikipedia page, subscribers to the United Kingdom version of Netflix complained at the way in which the service had changed the ending to a more happy conclusion. Addressing the backlash, Netflix said they were given the incorrect version of the film by accident and subsequently had to change it.
