Robert (played by Tristan Gemmill) has been carrying on with Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn) and neither of the two women know what he’s up to.
But Robert will soon find himself caught up in another complicated Coronation Street storyline as Michelle’s (Kym Marsh) son heads down a dark path.
Viewers will learn that Ali (James Burrows) has become addicted to diazepam which results in a troubling situation.
The addiction stems from Ali’s involvement in the death of Ronan Truman (Alan McKenna) last year on the ITV soap.
But his secret supplier at the hospital is set to be arrested leaving Ali resorting to desperate measures.
He goes to Dr Gaddas and begs for a prescription however, she become suspicious of his motives.
Ali also attempts to steal medication from Carla Connor (Alison King) but it goes awry as Roy Cropper (David Neilson) gets in the way.
As a result, he turns to Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) for help in getting his fix.
However, later viewers will see Ali suffering a seizure and Ryan calls in help from Robert.
Ali star James has opened up about the storyline and explained how Robert comes to be included in the plot.

“Ryan contacts Robert and gets him involved, because Ali sends the paramedics away and Ryan can’t deal with this situation on his own. Ali knows that he has to go cold turkey,” he told Digital Spy.
“Robert and Ryan decide that the only way is for them to help him. He needs their help – he has no other choice at this stage.
“He has always had a nice relationship with Robert so he feels he can trust him,” the actor continued.
However, how will Michelle come to learn the truth about her son’s dire situation?
Of course Robert may be protecting Ali by keeping the secret from Michelle but if she does learn the truth she could hit the roof.
On top of that, for how much longer can Robert keep his other secrets hidden? Viewers will have to wait and see.
Elsewhere, Michelle’s set to face an uncomfortable situation next week.
Away for work, Michelle arrives at a hotel for a chat with Ray but when she opens the door she finds him in his dressing gown.
He encourages her to come in and the pair talk business. But when he puts his hand on her leg what will Michelle do?
