Weight loss diet plan: Emmerdale’s Laura Norton lost an amazing 3st by quitting one food

Emmerdale’s Laura Norton has revealed her weight loss secret after losing an amazing three stone.

The actress, who appears in ITV’s popular Emmerdale, has slimmed down considerably.

Since she first appeared on the red carpet on 2013 after appearing in Heartbeat, the star has transformed.

So how did she managed her incredible new look?

Laura revealed how simply quitting Coca Cola helped her lose the three stone.

The 36-year-old has lost 42 lbs since she started acting in ITV’s Emmerdale in 2012.

Speaking to The Mirror, Laura said: “At its worse, I used to drink two-litre bottles of Coke a day. I know now how much sugar is in it.”

Studies have found that fizzy drinks increase the amount of a substance called ghrelin in the body.

Ghrelin is also known as the “hunger hormone”, and it makes us feel like we want to eat, as well as promoting fat storage.

After drinking a fizzy drink post a meal there were 50 per cent higher, meaning people still felt hungry.

The NHS has said: “If you are trying to lose weight, we recommend that you ditch the expensive diet drinks and stick to water.”

A two litre bottle of Coke contains a whopping 800 calories, a number that might shock many.

Laura added: “It was so much caffeine, so much sugar. You get a bit older and weight is harder to lose.

“Then I cut the Coca-Cola out and started to notice the difference and then just decided to keep it up.”

To keep herself fit now Laura works out for times a week.

Even diet fizzy drinks can cause weight gain, even though many reach to these beverages to stave off the pounds. A study from the University of Manitoba found those who drank diet drinks routine had a higher BMI and were more likely to develop heart disease.

Laura is not the only star of Emmerdale whose weight loss has impressed.

The actress revealed the secret behind her weight loss, admitting she found it difficult to eat as much due to being busy with her daughters.

She also praised her twin girls for helping keep her in shape.

She said: “I don’t have time to eat! It gets to 7pm and I realise I’ve just picked off the kids’ plates all day. My arms have become toned from picking up the babies – one on each side is quite the workout.”
