Strictly Come Dancing: ‘It’s unpredictable’ Shirley Ballas discusses pairings after leak

Strictly Come Dancing fever is upon the nation as this year’s line-up only has a couple of days left before they have to strut their stuff on BBC One.

Fans will have to wait until Saturday to see who has been paired with who, but it seems the news has leaked its way on to the internet.

However, head judge Shirley Ballas has since spoken about the mystery line-up on This Morning, telling Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby she was surprised by the pairings.

When asked what fans can expect, the Queen of Latin revealed: “I can tell you that’s the most unpredictable set of pairings I’ve ever seen on any show.

“Particularly on this one after 15 years, I mean. I was say there with Motsi [Mabuse] and I was like, ‘Oh this one will go with that one’, and no, it went this way.

“So it’s unpredictable, and I’ve got a funny feeling that’s how the whole of this series is going to be.”

Shirley insisted: “I can only say that in all the years I’ve done this or watched it, this is unpredictable when you pair these people up.”

The professional dancer then went on to discuss her new judging partner, Motsi, and how she will impact the panel.

Shirley recalled: “I used to judge her when she was a competitive dancer.

“She is just beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.”

“[Motsi] knows her trade inside and out and we have the same sense of humour, so we are on the same page.

‘It just gels, it just clicks, it just works.”

Shirley added: “She has judged, she has been on the German version, she is out there and quite vivacious.

“I’m going to have Bruno [Tonioli] on my left, Motsi on my right.

“So I have strong energy coming from both sides!”

Meanwhile, it seems Jamie Laing’s journey could be over sooner rather than later because of an injury.

The Made in Chelsea star has reportedly damaged the tendon in his right foot.

According to The Sun, a source revealed: “It’s touch and go for Jamie and bosses are waiting to see how his results look after he gets a proper X-ray done.

“Producers are hoping he’s just landed awkwardly during the group dance and tweaked something rather than it being a more series injury. They’ll know if his Strictly journey is over before it’s even begin in the next 24 hours or so.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs this Saturday on BBC One at 7.50pm.
