Hurricane Dorian NOAA 2am update: Category 5 Dorian ‘dangerously close’ to Florida

NOAA’s National Hurricane Center has released their 2am (EDT) update for Hurricane Dorian. With maximum sustained winds of 175mph, Dorian is about 40 miles east of Freeport Grand Bahama Island. Dorian is thought to be 125 miles east of West Palm Beach in Florida.

In a recent update, the NHC said Hurricane Dorian will move “dangerously close to the Florida east coast” tonight through Wednesday evening.

A number of watches and warnings are currently in place.
