Texas shooting: At least 30 injured as active gunman ‘hijacks mail truck’ in horror spree

The attack began on Saturday afternoon and reports say the shooter, or shooters, started randomly firing at people in Odessa and Midland. At least 10 were shot in Midland and 20 in Odessa, CBS News say. Officers were originally called to reports of multiple shooting scenes in Odessa, close to the Home Depot.

 

According to BNO News a state trooper has also been injured.

Odessa Polie said in a statement that they were unsure of the number of gunman operating.

It added: ““A subject (possibly 2) is currently driving around Odessa shooting at random people.

“At this time there are multiple gunshot victims.

“The suspect just hijacked a US mail carrier truck and was last seen in the area of 38th and Walnut.

“Everyone is encouraged to get off the road and use extreme caution!”

The University of Texas Permian Basin is also reportedly on lockdown as a precaution.
