Where is the 2020 Champions League final? Where could Liverpool and Man City play?

Europe’s elite will find out their fate for the group stage of this season’s Champions League when the draw takes place in Monaco.

Liverpool are the reigning champions after a 2-0 win over Tottenham in June.

That puts the Reds in pot one with Chelsea joining them having lifted the Europa League.

Real Madrid and Tottenham feature in pot two, leading to some potentially tricky groups for those teams.

All sides will be looking to progress past Christmas and into the knockout stages.

And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows it will be difficult for his side to retain their Champions League crown.

He said: “I will have no problem with it [reaching the final] if it happens again, but at this moment I am not too sure it will.

“We have the same chance like everyone else, but that is all, and I don’t see us, the English teams, dominating. I really think a lot of teams have a good chance.”

But where will this season’s final take place? And when can fans get ready to tune in?

Where is the 2020 Champions League final?

It could be a good omen for Liverpool with the Champions League final heading back to Istanbul.

The Reds produced a famous victory in 2005 in Turkey to lift their fifth European Cup, coming from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan on penalties.

The showpiece match of the European football calendar will be played at The Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

It’s the same ground that Liverpool won in 2005 with The Ataturk having been competing against the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

When is the 2020 Champions League final?

This season’s Champions League final will take place on Saturday May 30 2020.

The match is set to kick off at 10pm local time – that will be 8pm on UK shores.
