Twitter was awash with theories as to why the FLOTUS decided to wear the light-cancelling glasses as opposed to taking them off. She was returning with husband Donald Trump after the weekend’s conference.
Melania arrived back to Washington DC on Tuesday night and was pictured stepping off Air Force One near the White House.
But their return sparked huge speculation about the real reason why she opted for the specs.
Twitter users were quick to raise alarm bells, with several claiming they knew the real reason why Melania was clad in the chic shades – namely, that the woman stepping back on US soil was not Melania at all.
One person Tweeted: “I’m looking at their height difference and this woman seems shorter than Melania. It’s impossible to make out their faces, and I can’t draw any conclusion from wearing sunglasses at night.”
Another said: “Sunglasses at night? Nope, not Melania. Different hair, different walk.”
One joked: “Why is she wearing sunglasses at night if it’s not the fake Melania? No doubt the real Melania took a limo home to MD directly from Andrew AFB.”
Despite all the theories, one user chose to stick to what they saw, tweeting: “Why is Melania wearing sunglasses at night? Is it because she has no makeup? I can’t come up with any other reason.”
The trolling comes after Melania was pictured kissing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the meeting on Sunday.
