If we’ve learned anything from watching the Real Housewives franchise over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s that bringing reality TV cameras into your marriage is usually not the best idea. It’s getting to the point that Bravo should maybe consider re-naming the franchise Real Ex-Housewives because the divorce rate is so high after couples appear on the show. Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson appears to be the latest Housewife who is having some serious trouble in her marriage, and insiders say that Emily’s relationship with her husband Shane is actually “crumbling.”
The Season 14 premiere of RHOC featured a nasty fight between Emily and Shane that was filmed months ago, and sources say things have only gotten worse since then.

“Emily feels completely neglected by Shane,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s very emotional right now.”
During the episode, Shane focused on studying for the California bar exam instead of showing up for a birthday party Emily planned for his parents. And, when she called him to find out where he was, he accused his wife of “harassment.”
“I’m getting like hounded by everyone,” said Shane during the call. “This is getting to be a degree of harassment. I mean, it’s like no one respects the fact that I say ‘no.’ So, I’m supposed to call and say ‘Hi. How’s it going?’”
Emily ended up telling Shane “forget it,” in what turned out to be one of the bleakest moments of the marriage that RHOC fans have seen so far.
Last season – which was Emily’s first as an RHOC cast member – Shane didn’t win over his wife’s co-stars. Kelly Dodd went as far as calling him “a little b***h” during Tamra Judge’s party, and the ladies discussed this during the Season 13 reunion.
Emily continues to defend her husband on camera, but insiders say that behind the scenes Emily’s job as a reality TV star is leaving Shane insecure and the marriage is “crumbling.”

A source claims that Shane believes Emily has changed since becoming a Housewife, and if he had his way, she would be a stay-at-home mom who takes care of their children. But, Emily is a successful lawyer, part-time party planner, and reality TV star who works hard. And, she has no plans to quit her careers.
This is causing some serious marital issues, says the insider because Shane doesn’t feel like “much of a man.”
