Paul Pogba’s brother confirms Man Utd star wants transfer as Real Madrid circle

It will come as no great surprise to Red Devils supporters, who eagerly await the closure of the European transfer deadline on September 2.

Pogba made it clear at the start of the summer while away in Tokyo with Adidas that he felt the time was right for a fresh challenge but his demand is yet to have been met.

Manchester United are determined to keep hold of him and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes he is part of the core of his rebuild.

Now Pogba’s brother Mathias, has reignited speculation by claiming the World Cup winner is holding out for a move to the Bernabeu in the next few weeks.

“Of course Florentino [Perez, Real president] can get him, nothing is impossible in life,” Mathias told El Chiringuito.

“If you can’t stay and play where you are, you can stay and you’re done.

“I can’t assure you that he is going to stay at United. We know he wanted to move, but he’s not to blame. He’s waiting.

“He works hard and we’ll see what happens. In football you never know. Until September 2 everything can happen.

“My brother’s dream is to win the Champions League.”

Unlike Romelu Lukaku, Pogba has shown a professional attitude ever since he returned for pre-season training for the club’s tour of Australia and the Far East.

The 26-year-old registered two assists as United kickstarted their Premier League campaign in style against Chelsea, thumping the Blues 4-0 at Old Trafford last Sunday.

After the match, Pogba admitted there have been talks with the club over his future, which still remains unclear despite a growing feeling he’ll stay put until at least January.

“There have been words,” he told RMC Sport.

“We always stay on that question mark. I’m in Manchester, I’m having fun with my team-mates, I want to win matches.”

Zinedine Zidane is desperate to land Pogba but has been informed the club do not have the funds at their disposal after spending in excess of £270m on five blockbuster deals.

Real Madrid’s first formal offer of £27.6m plus James Rodriguez was laughed off by United, who value him at £180m.
