Pokemon Sword and Shield NEWS: Nintendo Switch game gets bizarre endorsement

Pokemon Sword and Shield fans have made a surprise connection between a new Pokemon and an iconic rock band.

Nintendo recently revealed more about Pokemon Sword and Shield during a surprise Direct conference kast week.

This includes plans to introduce a new form changing Pokemon called Morpeko, as well as new rivals such as Bede, Marnie and Team Yell.

Fans were also given a look at new Galarian forms of existing Pokemon, including Galarian Weezing, Galarian Zigagoon and Galarian Linoone.

It was later revealed that Galarian Linoone evolves into Obstagoon, which – as you can see from the tweets below – has drawn comparisons with Gene Simmons from Kiss.

In one of the more bizarre endorsements yet, Gene Simmons reacted positively to the comparisons, telling Newsweek that the homage is flattering.

“Pokemon has been a part of our household for decades, ever since our kids first discovered them,” Simmons revealed. “And to see Pokemon pay homage to KISS, is flattering.”

According to a recent leak, Nintendo will reveal additional new Pokemon very soon.

One of the potential new Pokemon has been identified as Seagulp, which is described as having a big oval shaped mouth.

The Ice/Flying Pokemon is also said to have one of the strangest moves of any Pokemon ever.

Nintendo is also said to be working on a third Legendary Pokemon for the game, as well as a chipmunk Pocket Monster.

The upcoming Pokemon sequel was recently given a November 15 release date, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

The game contains lots of new features and a new generation of Pokemon, not to mention a brand new location loosely based on the United Kingdom.

One of the headline new features is called Dynamaxing, which transforms Pocket Monsters into huge beasts with more powerful special moves.

New starter Pokemon include a chimp called Grookey, a rabbit called Scorbunny and a water lizard known as Sobble.
