Windows 10 has another problem as irritating glitch hits some Microsoft fans

Windows 10 continues its march to global domination with more Microsoft fans now switching to this latest operating system.

Recent stats from NetMarkShare have shown that Windows 10 now has a 45.79 per cent share of users with and Windows 7 now behind with a 35.38 per cent user base.

That’s clearly good news but Windows 10 continues to suffer some irritating problems with the latest issues hitting its own devices.

Microsoft recently updated its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for a number of its Surface laptops and promised to improve the performance of both for users.

However, it seems the upgrade is having the adverse effect for some Surface owners.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Since the release of the new firmware, a number of fans have taken to Reddit and Microsoft’s Answers forum declaring they are unable to connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi connections.

Most notably, others have declared they are unable to establish a pairing with any internet base at all.

Some owners of a Surface Book, Surface Pro 6, Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Laptop 2 have reported such an issue.

One user in particular noted the issues appeared to emerge after installing version 15.68.17013.110 of the Marcell drivers.

They said: “Windows would say ‘unable to connect to this network’ when I tried although other networks could be used okay.

“Forgetting my home network didn’t fix it. Toggling airplane mode didn’t fit it. Restarting didn’t fix it.

“I have since discovered that this is being caused by version 15.68.17013.110 of the Marcell drivers being offered through Windows Update.

“As soon as Windows installs that again following the removal from Device Manager, the issue comes back.

“I have confirmed this by installing the driver update 5 times, and fixed it each time by uninstalling the device and driver to cause it to fall back to the stock driver.”

Thankfully, those that are affected by the newest issue are able to revert to the previous driver update to fix their Wi-Fi.

As noted by Windows Latest, it does appear the reported problem does not appear to be affecting a large amount of Surface users.

Microsoft has not commented on the matter at the time of writing.
