Weight loss: Eat a handful of this for breakfast to lose weight and burn belly fat

Weight loss meals and dieting restrictions can sometimes mean slimmers feel they have little choice or variety with their mealtime foods. One particular tasty treat has been suggested for those looking to get into shape, as a way to start the day and stave off hunger. The breakfast food can be perfect for the summer paired with yoghurt or made into a warming winter feast on the top of porridge. It is also pretty affordable too, and stocked in many supermarkets.

The item is the fruit raspberries, and nutritionists suggest a single cup of the fruits at the start of the day could help aid weight loss.

Website eatingwell.com states: “A cup of raspberries delivers a whopping eight grams of fibre (that’s more than double what’s in a cup of strawberries and about the same amount in a cup of some types of beans).

“What’s so great about all that fibre? Recent research in the Journal of Nutrition suggests eating more fibre as a way to prevent weight gain or even encourage weight loss.

“Over the course of the two-year study, the researchers found that boosting fibre by eight grams for every 1,000 calories resulted in about four and a half pounds of weight lost.”

Meanwhile, website Healthline reveals just why raspberries may prove key in slimming down.

It added: “Eating foods rich in soluble fibre may help you lose belly fat.

“Soluble fibre helps keep your gut bacteria healthy and promotes overall fat loss by reducing your appetite.”

Meanwhile, something that has been suggested to accompany berries well is oatmeal, which experts also claim will help slimmers “burn more fat.”

New research has insisted oatmeal can help slimmers “lose weight in two ways”, potentially making it an ideal start to the day.

Website eatingwell.com flagged the grub, which is similar to porridge, as a perfect food choice.

It stated two reasons why this is so, and put: “First, it’s packed with fibre and it keeps you feeling fuller longer.

“Second, a recent study in the reported that eating a breakfast made with “slow-release” carbohydrates—such as oatmeal or bran cereal three hours before you exercise may help you burn more fat.”

The data explained this is because slow release carbohydrates do not spike blood sugar like some refined carbohydrates.

It added if the benefits of oatmeal: “In turn, insulin levels don’t spike as high.

“Because insulin plays a role in signalling your body to store fat, having lower blood sugar levels may help you burn fat.”

Therefore oatmeal, tripped with raspberries, might be a good choice, particularly for those who fancy a warm meal to start the day.
